About this Project

Americans are facing tough times: your friends, your neighbors, yourself. It is one of the most difficult years in our recent collective economic history.

We each have a story and there are lessons to be learned from our shared experiences. That’s why we’re traveling across the country – to help tell your stories of uncertainty, hope, and the true American spirit.

Along the way, we’re building a community here at TheHardestYear.com so you can follow along and see what we find. At the end of our journey we will have created an independent documentary called The Hardest Year.
